IF ONLY I KNEW – ADULT ACNE

HOW TO TREAT ADULT ACNE – Tips from Leighanne

Chronic stress and hormonal changes of adulthood can throw adrenal glands into overdrive, boosting sebum production, setting the stage for acne development.

Treating adult acne is challenging because as adults we tend to face skin dryness, sensitivity and, yes, signs of aging.

Leighanne recommends the germicidal action of an Oxygen Rx Treatment, which makes it extremely beneficial for acne and can be used on any skin type. A series of Oxygen Rx Treatments, along with routine facials produces dramatic results.

HOW TO TREAT

See a professional skin therapist like Leighanne. Spot treating and balancing the needs of your skin are key. Knowing what products to use for your skin type requires the knowledge of a professional.

  • Avoid “picking” or “squeezing” breakouts, which can result in more breakouts, scarring or redness. See a skin therapist for any extractions.
  • Our skin loses its ability to retain moisture with age. To avoid over-drying, choose products that contain non-drying ingredients such as Salicylic Acid or Glycolic Acid to help remove dead skin cells, excess oil and dirt, as well as Colloidal Silver to control bacteria.

To combat the signs of aging skin, choose Retinol, a wrinkle-smoothing ingredient, which

MICRODERMABRASION & MICROCURRENT: What it does for your skin…

DIAMOND MICRODERMABRASION

What it does for your skin…

Microdermabrasion removes the dead and dry outer layer of the skin’s surface to reveal fresh, healthy skin underneath. It rejuvenates the surface, resulting in a brighter complexion. Many of our clients see dramatic improvements in the tone, texture, and color of treated areas after just one treatment but lasting results are only achieved through a series of sessions.

A microdermabrasion treatment typically lasts 30-45 minutes. Clients often see improvements in their complexion after a single treatment but lasting results are only achieved through a series of sessions performed over the course of 6 to 8 weeks.

In addition to removing dead skin cells that can clog pores, Microdermabrasion also reduces excess oil (sebum) from these pores.

Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation can also be used to treat discoloration, light scarring, sun damage and stretch marks.

Microcurrent

MICROCURRENT

What it does for your skin…

Microcurrent is a current that mirrors a person’s own electrical impulses within their body. Clinical studies have shown that Microcurrent increases energy which fuels all cellular functions including repair, rejuvenation and re-education of the muscle. Microcurrent rejuvenates the skin. There is no recovery period following the treatment.

The Microcurrent treatment offered at Trans4mation Salon is safe and effective and will improve the health and appearance of the skin by increasing the natural production of elastin, collagen, and circulation.

A series of (1 hour ea.) Microcurrent treatments can:

  • Improve muscle tone in the face and neck
  • Provide a lifting effect for the jowls and eyebrows
  • Improve penetration of skin care products
  • Help to reduce or eliminate fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve facial circulation

We recommend starting with a series of 6 treatments. Scheduling treatments every 7-10 days initially provides faster results. Extending the treatment time beyond 14 days in your first series can slow progress and restart your anti-aging goal. Microcurrent is like exercise for your facial muscles. Once you reach your anti-aging goal, we suggest booking your maintenance treatments on an as needed basis.

CHILDREN & SUNBURN

Children are susceptible to sunburn, which can happen very quickly. Here are Leighanne’s tips to help protect your loved ones from the sun, while still having fun outdoors:

  • 50 SPF is crucial for children.
  • All children should be blanketed by sunscreen before stepping out into the sun.
  • Expired sunscreen is no longer at its full strength – always check the expiration date.
  • DO NOT use expired sunscreen on children, especially children with sensitive skin.
  • DO NOT use spray on a child’s face or any face. Sunscreen can get into the eyes, mouth or nose.
